das objekt besteht aus einem weissen holzrahmen, der unten und oben jeweils mit einem gitterrost geschlossen ist. auf dem unteren gitterrost sind sechs neonröhren montiert, auf dem oberen stehen 6 X 6 einmachgläser gefüllt mit kleinbilddias.

bei der arbeit light box one steht der mensch im mittelpunkt, im wörtlichen sinne: auf allen dias befinden sich menschen - in alltags- oder urlaubssituationen, einzeln oder in gruppen, in urbanem, landschaftlichem oder familiärem kontext, kurz: menschen in austauschbaren situationen. anonyme bilder, die durch ihre situative redundanz unsere mitteleuropäischen prägung offenbaren und sich durch die disposition zu kollektivem kulturgut wandeln. wähnen sich die protagonisten beim aufnehmen und beim vorzeigen der bilder individuell im hier und jetzt, zeigt sich in der gesamtschau unterschiedlichster, zeitübergreifender diasammlungen das gesicht der mitteleuropäischen familien-, reise- und schlussendlich dokumentationskultur.

the object consists of a white wooden frame that is closed off to both open sides at the top and the bottom with iron grids. onto the bottom grid, six neon tubes are mounted, on the top one, there are 6 x 6 preserving jars filled with 35mm slides.

the central theme of light box one is the human being, literally: all slides show humans in everyday or vacation situations, alone or in groups, in urban, landscape or family contexts – in short: they show humans in exchangeable situations. these are anonymous images that, by their situational redundance, reveal our central european conditioning and that are in this disposition turned into collective cultural assets. while the protagonists individually locate themselves in the here and now when taking and showing the pictures, in this overview of most different and time-encompassing slide collections, the face of central european cultures of family, of travel and last but not least, of documentation becomes apparent.
